Why Should I Use OMR?
OMR is required when the number of inserts (pages) needed to be inserted into each envelope varies. Another reason to utilize OMR would be to add different additional inserts which may vary from customer to customer.
Example: Check Mailings
- A company may send out bi-weekly checks. Each employee may receive a different amount of sheets such as a check and newsletter. Employee A may receive 1 check and employee B may receive 1 check and 1 company newsletter.
- All of the checks would be printed together in order in the same stack. The stack would then be taken from the printer and placed in to the folder inserter.
- The printed OMR marks on each check page are read by the optical mark reader. The inserter then pulls the appropriate number of sheets and inserts them.
- The Optical Mark Reader sees the insert mark and folds and inserts employee As 1 letter and then employee B's 2 letters.
