When opened, Smead rotary files are accessible from both sides, making the entire filing system available for retrieval by more than one user. In an open plan office, the units can double as work station dividers, providing privacy as well as convenient access to the filing system.

The space on the left uses nine standard four drawer lateral filing cabinets, while the space on the right uses only three 8-tier Smead rotary files to house the same number of records, leaving valuable floor space open for other uses, and allowing easy access from both sides of the files.

10-YEAR WARRANTY (BASE)
Smead Manufacturing Co. warrants that all mechanical or structural parts and components of each assembled base will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of ten (10) years following the shipment date from the manufacturer. If Smead determines, in its sole discretion, that any covered part or component of any assembled base is defective during this time period then that part or component will be repaired or replaced (at Smead's option) without charge, including freight. Labor not included.
5-YEAR WARRANTY (BALANCE OF UNIT)
Smead Manufacturing Co. warrants that all Smead Rotary Storage mechanical or structural parts and components will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of five (5) years following the shipment date from the manufacturer. If Smead determines, in its sole discretion, that any covered part or component is defective during this time period then that part or component will be repaired or replaced (at Smead's option) without charge, including freight. Labor not included.
LIMITATIONS OF WARRANTY AND DISCLAIMERS
Each of the above warranty provisions applies only to the original purchaser of the product. Warranties are not transferable to any other person or entity. The purchaser must give Smead Manufacturing prompt written notice (within 30 days of discovery) of the defective part or parts, which references the dealer/Smead sales order number. The purchaser must afford Smead Manufacturing the opportunity to inspect any defective part or parts. Purchased material remains the property of the original purchaser, assuming it is operating under normal usage and is properly maintained.
SMEAD MANUFACTURING'S LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY SHALL BE LIMITED TO FURNISHING A REPLACEMENT PART, OR PARTS, AS NECESSARY. ANY EXPENSE RELATIVE TO INSTALLATION SHALL NOT BE BORNE BY SMEAD MANUFACTURING. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT APPLY TO PRODUCTS INSTALLED, REPAIRED, OR MODIFIED BY PERSONS OTHER THAN A TRAINED INSTALLER AS APPROVED BY THE DEALER. EQUIPMENT DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF EXPOSURE TO CORROSIVE OR ABRASIVE SUBSTANCES SHALL NOT BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED UNDER THIS WARRANTY.
The above warranties do not cover parts which upon inspection are determined by Smead Manufacturing to have been subjected to misuse, overloading, neglect, alteration, accident, abuse, or damage by fire, flood or similar casualty. IN NO EVENT SHALL SMEAD MANUFACTURING BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental damages in consumer transactions, so some limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty shall be governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota.
Before leaving the factory, the equipment was subjected to substantial inspection to ensure that its quality meets exacting standards. On arrival, it should be carefully checked to be sure it has not been accidentally damaged in transit. If such damage is detected, it should be noted on all receiving papers and claims should be filed with the carrier. Claims for shortages and or damage must be made in writing within 30 days from receipt of shipment.
THESE WARRANTY STATEMENTS AND PROVISIONS ARE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED BY OPERATION OF LAW OR OTHERWISE. THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES OTHER THAN THOSE CONTAINED IN THIS DOCUMENT. SMEAD MAKES NO WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND UNDERTAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE QUALITY OF THE GOODS EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS DOCUMENT. SMEAD ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY THAT THE GOODS WILL BE FIT FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE FOR WHICH YOU MAY BE BUYING THE GOODS, EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS DOCUMENT. No course or prior dealing with Smead Manufacturing or trade usage shall be relevant to supplement or explain any item or term.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF ANY DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT, OR REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID BY THE CUSTOMER IN THE EVENT SMEAD DETERMINES SUCH EQUIPMENT CANNOT BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED, SHALL BE THE CUSTOMER'S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR PRODUCT DEFECTS, HOWEVER CAUSED, AND IN NO CASE SHALL SMEAD BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL OR OTHER DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES WHETHER AS A RESULT OF BREACH OF CONTRACT OR WARRANTY, SMEAD'S NEGLIGENCE, OR OTHERWISE.
Smead Manufacturing Co. shall have no liability for any advice or assistance rendered by any party outside the scope of Smead's written specifications for the malfunction, operation, or maintenance of the warranted equipment.
INTEGRATION OF ALL WARRANTIES AND POTENTIAL REMEDIES
This document contains the only warranties and remedies that may apply to this transaction. It represents the parties' total agreement, and integrates all communications between the parties, with respect to warranties and potential remedies. No prior communications between the parties will be allowed to vary or affect the terms of the warranties or limitations stated in this document.
HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE
Within 30 days of discovering a defect, provide a written request for warranty service to Smead describing the defective part or parts, referencing the dealer/Smead sales order number, and providing the date of purchase and the date you discovered any defect. A Smead representative will then contact you in response to your request.
CERTIFICATE OF WARRANTY
Smead Manufacturing Co. will repair or replace, at our option and sole discretion, any part found defective due to materials or workmanship, as highlighted in our Limited Warranty. For this warranty to be in force, a signed warranty and acceptance form must be on file at Smead Manufacturing. For the warranty to be in effect, we must receive the completed warranty and acceptance form within 60 days after your receipt of shipment.
