Clara Arias Baumgarten, CEO of ProSource Packaging, Inc. in Houston, Texas took aim at ISO 9001:2008 certifications, pulled the trigger by getting her staff on board, and just completed her dream task of receiving her company’s ISO Certificate on January 7, 2010. This is a marvelous beginning for a small business that generated more than $2.5 million in sales and competes in the office equipment business with competitors such as Staples, Office Depot, and other big box office equipment dealers.
With customers such as Department of Defense contractors General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, The Boeing Company, and Raytheon just to name a few, Ms. Baumgarten’s company is dedicated to a Great Customer Service Experience. As a GSA Contract holder, she identified the need to establish her company as the one to provide responsive and quality service to her customers in pursuit of continual quality improvement.
"ISO registration is critical to our end user’s success and to our company’s success. This quality standard sets our company apart from the competition as every Fortune 500 CEO knows that an ISO registered company is better managed than one that is not", said Ms. Baumgarten. She elaborated,
"This ISO registration is important to our suppliers and vendors as well, because by this standard we will demand that they meet our exacting quality standards or face the loss of our business."
As the business has matured, the company focuses more and more on security products and technology products that contribute to protection of classified or restricted data. "When you seek a high security product, our staff will provide excellent counseling with recommendation to implement the correct product or technology to fulfill your mission to guard your organization’s information. As a Registered Record Administrator for over 25 years, I have a deep insight into managing patient information correctly and my staff has benefitted from this tutelage", said Ms. Baumgarten. ProSource Packaging, Inc. operates the web portal, Machine-Solution.com, where the company is able to sell globally.
Consistently growing at an annual pace of 20-25% per year, Ms. Baumgarten anticipates 2010 to exceed that growth pattern. Having implemented the ISO standard over the past few months of operations, she has seen her employees adopt the ISO operating standards with vigor and vim and can measure its positive impact on the company’s operations. Stay tuned for more threads of success in 2010 from this Hispanic, woman owned, small business as Ms. Baumgarten prepares her management team to lock and load for record sales as an ISO 9001:2008 registered company.
